Sirius XM Wins Around $2,000,000 in Lawsuit

Sirius XM, on the 27th of June this year, won a default judgment in their suit against two former employees that embezzled Sirius XM of $714,631. The two former employees, Brenda Jones and Valencia Person worked in Sirius XM's account payable department and embezzled money from the company over quite a long period of time. Sirius XM authorities discovered this theft when vendors complained that they had not received their dues. The ensuing investigation revealed that the employees had paid themselves instead of cutting checks to the vendors.
Sirius XM successfully argued their case and received treble the damage, amounting to a total compensation of $2,143,893. This amount equals to the same as if 13,795 subscribers signed up for a year.
