Sirius Satellite Radio Drops BBC Radio 1

Sirius Satellite Radio has dropped BBC Radio 1 from its subscription satellite radio platform. The station was available for six years on the satellite radio platform before this move.
The satellite radio company is still in talks to get the station back on its platform. BBC Radio 1 was earlier available only through the web for the US listeners but Sirius Satellite Radio changed that when they signed a deal with BBC in August 2005.
A spokeswoman for BBC Worldwide did confirm that they have left the Sirius platform but did admit that talks were still on with the satellite radio to continue their services in the US. They still endeavor to provide quality music to the listeners in US.
On the other hand Sirius has removed BBC Radio 1 from its platform but made no comment related to the reason for this omission.
